A milk vending machine has been unveiled at a Lake District petrol station.
Spar Derwent in Keswick will now offer whole milk and milkshakes, with milk delivered daily from Alston Dairy at Longridge, near Preston.
It is the second Spar store in the county to have a vending machine – and the company plans to install them at its outlets in Bowness, Maryport, and Whitehaven this year.
Milnthorpe’s Spar was the first when its machine, called Ann Forshaw’s Milk Shed, was installed.
Fiona Drummond, company stores director at James Hall & Co. Ltd, owner of Spar Derwent, said: “Wherever we launch an Ann Forshaw’s Milk Shed, our customers love the concept, and we have high hopes that our latest launch will be lapped up by the community in Keswick.
“We are also rapidly rolling out Milk Sheds across Cumbria as we believe that the concept and the products are right for the market.”
Ann Forshaw’s and its associated Alston Dairy was acquired by the James Hall group of companies in December 2022.
