A parish council has repeated its objection to the removal of a public payphone in a Lake District valley.
Members of Borrowdale Parish Council opposed the proposed removal of the Rosthwaite phone box in September, 2019.
BT is again looking to remove the payphone which latest data shows was used on average 13 times a month.
It was agreed at the latest meeting of the parish council to submit the original objection which pointed out that there was no mobile phone signal within the village and that the payphone is used by residents and visitors in times of emergency and to recover broken down vehicles.
Parish councillors have sought clarity on the time periods that the data for usage was gathered, pointing out that if it includes the period of lockdown this would skew the results.
