Members of Borrowdale Parish Council heard from the clerk that over the summer and into the autumn a number of concerns had been raised by residents living in the valley about the frequency of low flying military aircraft.
Parish councillors said they understood the need for the Royal Air Force to train but pointed out that the significantly increased intensity of the aircraft, particularly during the summer, was having an impact on the quiet enjoyment of the Lake District national park.
It was resolved that the parish clerk contact the Ministry of Defence and the Association of National Parks to ask for further community consultation over the increased prevalence of low flying jets over the valley.
